What a Year!

Since I started this blog recently I thought it would be fun to go over some fun things I did this year before I started the blog. The year started out with tax season and me working at H&R Block. I always enjoy tax season and also enjoy when it is over. It also marked our trips to Mesquite to skydive in the cold months. Come March it was time to start skydiving in Ogden again.

In May I had my Polynesian Dancing Review. This year I got a new Tahitian costume and I love it.
In June I took my yearly trip to St. George with the mom, sister, niece, aunt, and 2 cousins. We always go Tuachan and see the plays. This year it was My Fair Lady and Cinderella. We also went rock climbing while we were there.

It was a fun July for skydiving because Skydive Ogden brought in a lot of different aircraft while our plane was getting a new engine. We jumped out of the Super Otter (a twin prop plane that can hold 28 people), a King Air (a plane that gets to altitude in 9 minutes, it usually take 20-30 minutes, a Skyvan and a Casa (both are rear tailgate exit planes and can hold up to 32 people).

In August we took a trip to Huntington Beach for a week. It was a very laid back vacation for us, not much adventure. We would get up go to the beach, soak up some sun, boogie board, soak up some more sun and then go get ready for dinner and then sleep and repeat. One day we went to Knott's Berry Farm. It was fun but I expected it to be better. Lagoon was just as good. Another day we went on a scuba dive. I am not very fond of beach dives, you get sand everywhere.

The worst thing that happened this year is that Keesha (our dog) died right after we got back from California. It is by far the hardest thing that has happened to Ryan and I since we’ve been married. It was devastating. We buried her at Gwen & Lloyd’s. I miss her so much. Ryan hit 2,000 jumps and every time he hits a 1,000 more jumps, he makes a base jump, so he took a trip up to Idaho and made two base jumps. He enjoyed it.

This brings us to where I started the blog. It has been a good year. I am so grateful for all of my family and friends. I am definately blessed to have awesome people in my life. Thanks to all of you for the love and support.

Busy Week

What a week last week was! Of course on Monday I had ballet. We also went and flew in the tunnel. Tuesday I had to practice my song for our ward party then head to my company Christmas party. Wednesday I had Hula and then afterwards we had our Hula Christmas party. Thursday was our friends dinner. Which I have to say was the most enjoyable part of my whole week. It is always so fun to get together. Right after that party, we had to go and set up the church for our Ward Christmas Party. Which we did with only a few people because the chair persons didn't delegate it out. Friday was the ward party. Ryan and I were running around all night keeping things going. I sang two different songs, one a duet and one a group song. The group song was The 12 Pains of Christmas. It was hilarious. Then we got to clean it all up too, because nothing got delegated out. The bishop actually came up to all the activities committee members and said, "Just beacause you're in charge, doesn't mean you have to do ALL the work. You need to pass it on to others." Hopefully the chair people got the hint. Not that I don't mind working hard, but when you have other people that can help, why not let them. Saturday was a no stress day. We went skiing to Snowbasin with our friend and my dad. It was really nice, a little cold but all our new stuff kept us warm. We also had another skydiving couple getting married on Saturday night up in East Canyon. It was a fun night since we haven't seen most of our friends for about a month. I am glad that busy week is over with.

Park City Weekend

This weekend Ryan and I went on a little get-a-way to Park City. We stayed at Westgate for free. We did have to go and attend the sales pitch, but it wasn't that bad. We also got a voucher for dinner at their five star restaurant. Westgate is right by The Canyon's ski resort and we both just got new skies, so we went skiing on Saturday. It snowed all day but we stayed warm. The snow was really nice and powdery. Towards the end of the day it got a little rocky because their wasn't a ton of snow, but we had a blast. It was nice to get away with just the two of us and have some quality time.

Black & White Fun

Ryan was messin' around with his camera this weekend and took some fun black and white shots.

H&R Block Photo

I had to get my picture taken for H&R Block's Find A Tax Pro website. I will be working there again this tax season at the 10th Street office. If you need any help with your taxes, let me know.

More Skydiving

I made my 100th skydive this weekend. YEAH! Yes I was jumping in this freezing cold weather. Even I think I am crazy. The temperature was -2 degrees at altitude on one of the jumps. Burrr.

100th Jump

Sit Fly Train with Ryan

Coming in For Landing

That was a fun jump!

Friends Wedding

Two of my skydiving friends got married the day after Thanksgiving. I was the Matron-of-Honor. My camera was being stupid again with not focusing correctly, but this was a good shot. It was a lot of fun, my first "being in a wedding". It was at The Tuscany Gardens, wow have they remodeled.

Singing in Church

My father-in-law is a High Councilman and had to speak in his own ward. He asked my mother-in-law to speak and asked me to sing. Of course I couldn't turn him down, so on Sunday I sang a solo version of "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". It went great. I sat down after singing and Ryan said, "You did a good job." About 5 minutes later he said, "You really did a great job." I was happy that he thought so. Their talks were on families. They reminded me how blessed I am to have such a great family on both sides. We all get along so great. Everyone is so supporting of each other and we love to hang out and play games and just talk. I love my parents so much. I love doing things with them. They are always busy doing things and going places. The pictures are from a trip the three of us took last year to Jackson Hole.

Sit Flying in the Sky!

So Ryan and I are trying to get a cool picture of us skydiving for our Christmas card. Yesterday was our first attempt. Here are some of the photo. None of which are good enought for a card but they are still fun.

More House Stuff

So I went to IKEA again and made the blank wall above the TV look not so blank anymore. We also got HD hooked up this week and "oh my gosh" I can't believe how awesome it is. I really didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it does. It looks like you are there in real life taking part in what you are watching. It is so cool.

New furniture

I went to IKEA with my sister this weekend and they finally had the stuff I wanted in stock-Yeah. So I got a new entertainment center, coffee table, and end tables. While I was there, Ryan went to RC Willey's and purchased a new flat screen TV. It is an HD LG. It is so awesome. Except now we have to subscribe to HD channels. I also have to come up with some decorating for above the tv, it looks blank, so back to IKEA I go for shelving that matches everything. For some reason parts of the pictures are out of focus, but you can see it good enough.

Sit Flying in the tunnel!

We had a tunnel session on Wednesday and I did so awesome. For those that don't know what the tunnel is: It is indoor skydiving. It is similiar to skydiving but you don't have to jump out of an airplane. So, if you are to afraid to skydive, you should go give this a try. It is soooo much fun. It is at the Solomon center in downtown Ogden. Anyways, there are several different ways to fly in the tunnel: belly, back, walking/standing, sit, and head down. Their names pretty much explain what you do. I have passed off my belly, back, and walking and have been working on sit flying for about 20 minutes and during my last ten minute sessions, it finally clicked and I was doing turns and docks. I was so excited. Almost even cooler than getting it, was how excited Ryan got when I was able to turn so good and take docks. He had the biggest smile on his face. I think he is such a great husband.

Vegas Baby Vegas

I went to have a girls trip to Vegas. My friend Steff and I drove down to stay with our friend Toni and hang out and see some shows. I went to Celine Dion and then the three of us went to "Love" it is the Cirque Du Soleil that has only Beatles songs in it. Both of the shows were amazing. One of the nights we went to Fremont Street which has a huge light show above you. It was really neat.

Helicopter Jump!

This weekend I was able to jump out of a helicopter. It was awesome.

Lake Powell

We took a fun trip to Lake Powell with my parents and Ryan's sister Melissa. One of the hikes we went on was 12 miles round trip, it took 6 hours. I knew what I was hiking to, otherwise I would have given up. I could barely walk the next day. The hike was to Choall falls down Navajo canyon. It usually is only about an hour to and hour and half, but with the water level as low as it is, it made for a long hike. We saw 4 wild horses in the canyon one of which was a colt. The top picture is of Weatherill Canyon. It was a narrow canyon with some of the parts the water was to deep to even touch. We had a ton of fun. It is sad to see the water level so low, but Lake Powell is still one of my favorite places on earth.

The Beginning of a new blog

Ok I gave in to peer pressure. I didn't really want to do this because I also do myspace, but that is with all of my skydiving friends, so I thought I would do this for everyone else. My post will probably be few and far between because I don't have any kids doing silly and cool things but I'll do my best at keeping it interesting.
