Cruise

Wow, I don't know where to begin. We had so much fun. I will only post a few pictures here but I will give a link to photobucket for more pics if you want to check them out. Here's the link: http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff77/scuth2/Cruise%2008/
Our first day was on St. Thomas. We kayaked through a mangrove area to a deserted island and went hiking to what was supposed to be a blow hole. Apparently it was sleeping that day. Then we went snorkeling. We saw 2 HUGE puffer fish and I went to grab my underwater camera and noticed that it was full of water!!! AAHH! Apparently it hadn't sealed. I was pissed, but I didn't let it ruin the day. Then we kayaked back to base. It was a beautiful day. The next island was St. Maarten, where we boarded an America's Cup Regatta sailboat and did a real race. We did an actually job the a real crew member would have done in a race. Ryan thought it would be fun to be on seperate teams. His boat was Stars and Strips and my boat was True North IV. It was a good race but in the end my boat and team won-can you say bragging rights? After that we headed into town and purchased another underwater camera that doesn't have to have a case. It is awesome and worth every penny. We also enjoyed some time at the beach. Next we headed to Antigua. Our original Ultimate Adventure was canceled due to lack of participation. I was totally bummed out, but we went and did a canopy tour in the forest. It consisted of about 8 ziplines and then about 8 rope and bridge challenges. It was okay but not nearly as fun as the Ultimate Adventure would have been. My pictures of us on the zipline haven't been emailed to me yet. I'll post them when I get them, IF I ever get them.

St. Lucia was next and was my favorite island. We did a private tour and it was well worth the cost. We went all over the island tasting a lot of the local fruit and bread. We took a hike in the rainforest to a pool and waterfall and had it all to ourselves. While we were at the waterfall, terrential rain fall came down on us. It was awesome. The hike/waterfall/rain was probably my favorite part of the whole cruise. After that we headed to lunch with a view of the Pitons (Peetons). Then we headed to a drive in volcano. It's been dorment for years but you can see steam and mud/water boiling. Below the volcano there is a mineral/mud/water bath that you can soak in. It was really hot but soothing. Of to snorkel in the ocean was next. We saw a ton of fish including 6 cuddle fish which belong to the squid family. It was the first time I had ever seen them. It was really good snorkeling. We both loved it. We plan on going back to stay on St. Lucia. That's how much we loved it!

Barbados was our next stop. We did a Best of Barbados tour and went to the Harrison Cave, The Animal Perserve, and snorkeling with the turtles. Barbados was my second favorite place. The cave was really cool, it had fresh water running throught the whole thing. The animal preserve was so cool, the monkeys would come up right by you. One of them tried to take our camera while we were taking a picture of it. It was hilarious. We also saw a baby monkey-too cute.

As far as the ship goes, it was huge. We enjoyed being on the boat. The food and desserts were really good. We went to the entertainment every night. Most of it was good, however the last night was terrible. I loved dressing up, Ryan not so much. But our pictures turned out great. We met a lot of fun people and will probably be staying in touch with a few of them.

Sunset from our balcony on the last day.

Thanksgiving and some misc stuff!

I FINALLY have something to post and I can't believe it's been a month since I posted last. It's Crazy that not much has been going on. Sorry to let you down. So if you haven't lost hope on me, here's a new post!

Wednesday, I went down and spent the night at Ryan's parents for Pie night. The night before Thanksgiving we have a pie night so we can eat all the pie we want without feeling like we are going to explode from dinner and dessert. Instead we just feel like we're going to explode from pie, hehe. We had about 10 different pies to choose from. I tried key lime, Lemon Meringue-made from fresh squeezed lemons, pumpkin, apple, and raspberry cream. They were all amazing. We stayed up late playing games and like always had a ton of fun. The next two pics are evidence thay Ryan and I aren't the only "crazy" ones in the family (as far as the extreme things go). This is Melissa and Brett longboarding behind the car. It was fun watching them. Each of them only crashed once and didn't sustain any serious injuries. Melissa did hurt her hand a little bit though.

Then Thursday morning Ryan came to his parents and we played more games and had a light lunch. After that we headed to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. My mom got a fresh turkey this year and it was really good. Here's a picture of me and my sisters and their kids minus one, Alexa went to her mom's this year.

So I got this cute tea pot on a shopping trip I took with my friends before we went to see Twilight, which by the way I loved. Thanks to my girls for a fun night out. Anyway, back to the tea pot, Can you see anything interesting about it? Let me know. Hehe.
This is a jump that that we made some time in November. It was our friend Chad's 100th jump, he's the guy in the white helmet. We got ten people in a big round. I was the second person to get in. It was fun, of course.

As far as the cruise goes, I can't wait! I did try and post a countdown on my blog, but I couldn't get it to work. So as of right now, this very second, the count down is 7 days 11 hours 38 minutes and 15 seconds and counting down! YEAH! We will be very ready for a vacation after the next week because I have to be in training every night for H&R Block and Ryan will be working in Price all week! When do you ask will we have time to pack? We probably have to pack this weekend. Luckily all the clothes we'll be taking we aren't wearing right now because it's winter-boo. Did I mention how much I hate the cold?. FYI: If anyone plans on going on a cruise and likes to research a lot of information before booking and any other possible questions you might have www.cruisecritic.com is an amazing site. It has helped me out a ton. I have had a lot of my questions answered. Plus another fun thing about it is that you can meet up with other people from your cruise and register for a sponsored from the cruise ship, meet-n-mingle while your on the cruise with the people you meet on cruisecritics. It has been fun meeting people before hand. My next post will probably be after the cruise. Bon Voyage!

39 Days to go until cruise!

I am soooooo excited for our cruise to the Southern Caribbean which leaves on December 6th. I have been doing a lot of research and reading reviews about our cruise and booking shore excursions. In the reviews, a lot of people mention how awesome balcony suites are and if you aren't in one you should definately upgrade if possible. We are in an oceanview room. So being curious I called my travel agent to see how much it would be to upgrade and they said it was only $100. WOW! So, of course I did the upgrade. Yeah!!!!!

I have booked a Kayak, Hike, & Snorkel tour for our first island, St. Thomas. The next day on St. Maarten we plan on just chillin' on the beach and exploring by ourselves. Then in Antigua we are doing the Ultimate Adventure excursion which includes: a 12 zipline tour, hiking, a catamaran sailing, snorkeling, and chillin' on the beach. In St. Lucia and Barbados we are doing tours that hit all the "best of" spots of each island. I can't wait.

I haven't posted in a long time because not much has been going on. My life has consisted of working, working out and trying to eat right (7 more pounds to go till goal weight), watching a little tv, making a couple of skydives, and hanging out with friends.

Ryan just got back from a vacation to Washington DC and Virginia for a skydiving boogie with one of our friends that use to live in Virginia. He had a blast.

Crazy Weekend

The weekend started out with soakin' my hair in sweat. I joined the gym that is at Five points because they have some really fun classes. It was a step combo class and boy did I ever work hard. It was a lot of fun even though I was working out really hard. I gotta get in shape for our cruise in December. That last 5-10 pounds sucks to get off. Friday night we went to Wise Guys with some of our skydiving friends to see Norm Mcdonald. All 3 comics that night were hilarious. It was also very hot in there.
Above:on the way to the comedy club.
Saturday Ryan and I actually got to spend the whole day together because it was bad weather. I have come to enjoy bad weather weekends because of the time we get to spend together. I did have Hula in the morning and then we headed down to SLC with some of our friends and went to The Body Worlds exhibit. I was kind of annoyed because even though you buy tickets for a specific time you still have to wait in line. We waited about an hour until we got into the exhibit and then the actually exhibit was really crowded. It was still cool to see and also watch how fascinated Ryan was with the whole thing. I had already been to one in Vegas so it wasn't as cool for me because it wasn't the first time I had seen it. There were things I liked about the Vegas one better and then there were things I liked better about the SLC one too. The SLC one had cool poses and also had poses involving two people and had a HUGE camel done. The Vegas one had a better embryo/newborn and reproductive section.
Fooling around with props and the camera. Nerd Alert!
On our way home from SLC we stopped atIt is always so fun racing a little go cart. If you haven't done it ever it makes for a great date night. You get to make up a race name, so start thinking of something fun. Mine is Lollipop.

Sunday night we headed to the Homestead Resort and went scuba diving in the Crater. It is a hot water spring/mineral crater. We thought it would be a good idea to have a little refresher before going on our cruise since we hadn't dove since August 07.
I got a new digital underwater camera from ebay for super cheap. The crater made a great place to try it out. I was sick of doing different water sports and worrying about getting my nice digital wet our having to use the waterproof film diposables. Plus it's frustrating not knowing if any of the pics turned out until you get home from vacation. We had several shots in Cali. that were out of focus. It's a total bummer when you can tell the picture would have been a great shot had it been in focus.

Beautiful Fall Hike

On Friday I needed to workout but I really didn't want to workout indoors because it was so pretty outside. So I called up my dad and said, "Lets go on a hike." (My mom was in California.)We headed up the canyon to Wheeler's Canyon and it was so beautiful and it was also good exercise. I've never been in that canyon before and I really liked it. As much as I hate fall it sure is beautiful. I only hate it because it means that summers over and the cold will coming way too soon.

How Many of Me?

So my sister emailed me a cool link. It is http://www.howmanyofme.com/ . You can see how many people in the US share your name. Here are some examples:

I win the most popular name of the ones below.

Name / Place / How Many
Laura / 57th / 778,351
Kim / 199 / 314,393
Holly / 340 / 178,563
Kristin / 397 / 151,092
Kellie / 838 / 44,259
Brittney / 941 / 36,628
Janiel / didn't place / fewer than 1526

On their website you can enter your first and last name. I am sure it's not completly accurate because it says there is only one of me but I know there is another one. It is still fun and interesting to do though.

Park City Weekend With the Girls

Over the weekend I went to Park City with some of my girlfriends. On the way up we stopped at the Cheesecake Factory to eat. It was delicious. We stayed at the Westgate Resort. We are missing Holly and Brooke in this picture. We stayed up late playing games and of course laughing a lot. On Saturday we spent a lot of money at the Outlet Stores. Janiel, Kristin and I went on the Alpine Coaster. The first time we went the people in front of us were going way too slow so we got to ride it again for free. It was so much fun. Janiel and I went together so we would go extra fast. I took pics on the way up and down, they're pretty funny.

On our second ride, Kristin was going so fast that she lost her grip and slid her hand on the wood ramp next to the slide and got a pretty nasty ouchy and slivers. The EMT was awesome at getting slivers out, Kristin was so brave.
