Hawaii

This picture sums up what we think of Hawaii-LOVE. We had such a great time that our planned five days was extended to seven days and we are so glad we decided to do that. Those of you who are on Facebook, there are a ton of pictures there if you would like to check out more pictures. It takes too long to load them here. We went hiking in the Lava Fields, went snorkeling a lot, drove all over the island, went hiking in several different places, spent a ton of time at the beach, and did the road to Hana which involved 600 turns and 54 one way bridges, lots of hikes and waterfall playing including Oheo Gulch(the seven sacred pools). John and Steph's wedding was gorgeous, perfect weather and sunset. We were glad they invited to come share this day with them. Snorkeling in Honolua Bay

So close and then not so close

The upstairs bath is so close to being finished, all we need is the granite countertop to be installed, the toilet, and plumbing underneath the sink. It has been a long process, but it is going to be so nice when it's all done. Here is a before picture. Here's a picture of the vanity, you can't really tell the color of the granite, but the piece on top is the color we're going with. Below is our cool faucet we'll be using.

The yard, is the not so close! I definately have a love/hate relationship with my yard. It's more of a hate rigth now since more than half of it is dirt/mud. We've removed the fruit trees, since they were in really bad shape, dug down so the bottom portion of that part of the yard is one level instead of a slope. Pictures of before and after.

The plan is to do a deck from the house to hang slightly over the bottom portion. The bottom portion will be stones or pavers with a rock wall, so that this side of the yard will have no grass or need to be watered. With all of the rain we've been having I have a great mud pit. Anyone up for a mud wrestle? haha, just kidding. Also, Ivy has to potty in the front yard, and is easily distracted. It's quite annoying. Here's to hoping this portion of the back yard doesn't take as long as the bathroom.

What's Blooming

Since I have soooooooooooooooo many plants in my yard, I thought it would be fun to do posts on What's Blooming. So every once and a while (when I think about it) I'll go take pictures of What's Blooming. Here's May 4th.
