More remodeling happening

This is what a master closet/bathroom and front room wall looks like once it's been destroyed. Demo. is fun!
Here's what our house looks like without the wall between the front room and the kitchen. It's going to be like this for a while, but we wanted to get all the demo. done at one time. We are really excited for the new layout of the kitchen.
Ivy on "not Halloween". This is the first year I handed out candy. We had a bunch of trick or treaters and Ivy loved saying hi to all of them and all of them thought she was such a cutie.
We actually had 3 real trick or treaters. (on actual halloween)

P90X-AAGGGH!

So Monday I'm starting P90x! I'm terrified of the pain I'm going to be in. I wanted to keep track of my progress and feelings throughout the journey but didn't want it to be public. Kirk & Carin Chugg really motivated me with their transformation from earlier this year and he started a support group on FB, so I will be starting Monday which put us finishing on Christmas Eve! I think that's a perfect gift to myself and to Ryan.

Here is my committment that I want to share, so that not only I know what my committment is.
I believe that if it's not in writing there's really no committment.

My health is important to me and my family. That's why I'm making a commitment to live a healthy lifestyle. I, hereby agree and commit to take the following steps to improve my accountability to myself and increase my chances of success:

I will not let one small slip-up convince me that I'm stupid, a wimp, worthless, or a lost cause. I will respect myself by refusing to engage in verbal self-abuse, and I will find positive ways to comfort and support myself when I'm having a hard time.

I will not sacrifice my own needs to make other people happy, or do for them what they can and should be doing for themselves. When there is a conflict between my exercise and eating plans and what other people want me to do, I will negotiate to find a reasonable solution that allows me to do what I need to do for myself.

I choose to be in charge of my own decisions and behavior. I will not talk, think, or act as if my, spouse, family and friends, cravings, or subconscious made me do it. I will ask myself what's most important to me at that moment and make my decision. If I don't like the consequences, I will try something different the next time.

I, hereby promise to get strong and toned and if that warrants losing or gaining weight, I will be happy with the results. I'm making this commitment to myself to make the end of 2010 the time I get strong! Every muscle I gain will: Improve my energy, Improve my self image, Reduce aches and pains, Improve my sleep, Help keep the fat off, and Increase my life expectancy.

I recognize the benefits to my health and commit to:
Making better food choices
Increasing my intake of fruits and vegetables and reducing my intake of processed foods.
Eliminate High Fructose Corn Syrup and Soy as much as possible.

Signing this contract and making the commitment means that I will live a healthier life and be provided the chance to spend more time with the people I love.

Ryan and Rockwell Airtime

In the next couple of weeks there will be a few news articles and tv spots done on Rockwell Airtime. That is Ryan's skydiving competition team for those of you who didn't know. I'll post whenever one is available online. September 14 is the first day of competition at Skydive Chicago (drop zone is located in Ottawa, about an 1 1/2 hours from Chicago) You can see coverage of USPA Nationals at http://www.skydive-tv.com/ The teams website is http://www.rockwellairtime.com/ if you want to check it out.

Anniversary Jump

I don't think many people can say they celebrated their 10 year anniversary the way we did.

Yard Update

Here is the before picture of the front side yard. I wish it showed the whole flower bed in it's full over grown nastiness.After-we love the extra parking space and the new non-spinning mail box.
Before of the front, closest to the house flower bed.

Thanks to Gwen and Lloyd for a full days work moving rocks and clearing out this section of the yard. They did an awesome job.
Before pic of the back yard.
After! We hardly have anymore dirt! Yeah for sod. July 25 and Aug 1 we ran the Weber river with some of our friends. It was fun. We ran into Cody, a cousin on the Scothern side.

Back Yard Before and In Between Pics

Here are a few before and in between pictures of the back yard. I say "in between" because there's stil a bunch to be done before it's done but I think this is enough progress to post some pics. Next comes the really expensive part-concrete and paver patios.

Before: pic taken from back door.
In Between: same angle as above
Before: the "garden area" (more like throw as much dirt, wood, and garbage in as you can) The only viable thing in this area is the raspberry bushes which I love! Also pictured below are the nummy raspberries I picked yesterday.
After: Same view, you have no idea how much dirt we removed.

During pic: Ryan in the process of getting rid of 3 trees.

In Between: Can't wait till we get the concrete (upper) and paver (lower) patios done. Oh, and more grass to cover more dirt, gravel and fence for the side yard, and then eventually a garden, that will be next year.

Trees, Tigger, and Park City

These 3 trees are no longer standing and probably by now are in a million pieces. Ryan has been working long hours in the back yard getting it ready so we can build the rock wall. I help a little, but mostly Ryan did everything. I'll post after pics once I take them. We did it all on our own with minimal damage, a few holes and cracks in the fence and a huge dent on the shed roof. (which we have on video, but fowl language is involved so it won't be posted) It would have cost us $900 to have all 3 trees removed professionally. I'm glad we could do it ourselves with the use of Master Electrical's boom truck, my boss's chain saw, and Ryan being so handy. The Turner's came for a visit and we found out that Ian LOVES Tigger and the sound of a motorcyle. He loved revving it up, and then would give a little nervous/excited smile. It was too cute.

Ivy, Joeli, and I headed up to Park City for a fun weekend. We went to do Course A'Lure but ended up doing a lot more. Ivy finally decided that she likes to swim. I never thought I would get her to swim without being coaxed or pulled in, but she did it this weekend. I think it helped that there were other dogs swimming. She loved swimming after her frisbee.
She also finally won GOLD! Here she is with her Bronze, Silver, and Gold medal!
Joelie and I on the ski lift headed up to do the Alpine Slide.

Maybe a little nervous?
Joeli at the end of the Alpine Slide.
At the top of the Alpine Coaster....it's gonna be fast!
Joeli did a great job at holding down the brake so we went as fast as we possibly could. She didn't let up once even though she was tempted to. It was so fun. I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt but no sound was coming out. It was a thrill going on the coaster, I love it.
I should have taken a picture of my trunk before we took out all of our shopping bags. It was so full of all of the great deals we got at the outlet stores. It was a great sight.

Bathroom Remodel

Here is the Before Picture. After: There are a few minor things that still need to be done, but basically it's FINALLY done!
I LOVE it! Well, on to the next project which we haven't decided what's next.
