I'm gonna miss you Cougar

So when I was eight we got a new kitty and named him Cougar. I wish I had a picture to post of him cause he was a very striking cat. He was such a good cat, he was a little honory sometimes, but out of all the cats I had growing up he lasted the longest. He would sleep with me every night and keep me warm. Sunday I went to my mom's house for dinner and went to cuddle my cat and just thought he is so old and probably miserable. My mom told me earlier that he had stopped eating but was still drinking. I told her that we needed to put him down, but my parents weren't quite ready. Tuesday morning my mom calls me at work and says it's time. I headed over to my parents from work and cuddle with him, he looks sooo sick, he has infected gums that have been bleeding, no wonder he stopped eating. He is so skinny and barely looks alive. It's raining. Rain definately matches the mood. My Dad digs a hole in the backyard. My Mom and I sit in the back seat loving Cougar as we take him to the vet, crying as we have our last moments with our 19 year old cat that we love so much. We arrive at the vet and they give him a little something to make him relax and comfortable. We talk to him and tell him our goodbyes and let him know how good of a cat he was. The vet comes in and we say our final goodbye. We wrap him up in a blanket and my Dad drives us home to bury him. Even when you know it's best for him to put him to sleep instead of suffering, it doesn't make it any easier. I'm gonna miss you Cougar.

Ivy's First Week

We brought Ivy home on Friday. One things for sure is she doesn't like the car. She has some anxiety while in the car, which I hope goes away fast because she's going to be in it everyday. The first stop was the vet. She did a great job and is a healthy girl. Next stop was home where we had tons of fun playing and she got to meet Cessna.
At first, second, third, fourth..... meeting the cat wanted nothing to do with her and quite frankly was pissed off at us. She wouldn't even let us touch her, but she warmed up to Ivy and now they play with each other a little. Below is when they finally started warming up to each other.
She plays really hard and crashes just as hard to. She is a really good sleeper. The nights haven't been too bad either. She usually only gets up once if at all every night. So that's nice. Ryan takes care of her in the morning and then she comes to work with me.
At work she gets to play (well try to) with Sadie, my bosses dog that comes to the shop everyday too. Sadie is older and doesn't really like to play anymore but she is very patient with the hyper puppy. Today, Mia one of my friends dogs, got to come and play with her. She had a ton of fun and that is what the video below is. It was funny because at first she didn't know what to think of this weird looking dog, but then it was all about play. It put her right to sleep after all that rough playing. Ivy Is so smart. She already knows the sit command and knows that she has to sit before she gets her leash on to go outside and that she has to sit to get the leash taken off. She also is doing really good with the potty training.
